15 August is a day of National rejoicing and merry-making. This year Meerut Public School For Girls celebrated the completion of 75 years of independence. The students carried tricolour to make ‘Har Ghar Trianga campaign‘ a roaring success. This campaign is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The idea behind this initiative is to invoke the feelings of patriotism and to make Indians feel proud of The Tricolour.

The celebration in the school premises started with the hoisting of National Flag by the Management Mrs. Kusum Shastri, the Guest of honour Mrs. Madhu Sirohi, Principal Ms. Harjinder Kaur and the Vice Principal Ms. Bela Chadha amidst the chorus of National Anthem

Patriotism is a religion and religion is love for India.

To show their love for the nation, the students staged patriotic songs and dances which immersed the total environment in patriotic fervour and zeal. Through placards students showed the glimpses of the magnificent journey and achievements of our nation since independence. A Nukkad natak on 'say no to single use plastic 'was performed. Pigeons were released to depict that freedom is everyone’s right and should be cherished.

On this special day the school released its Annual Magazine which showcases the creative, artistic and academic excellence of the students of Meerut Public School for Girls.

The Guest of honour and the Principal addressed the gathering and appealed to their nationalist spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian. Principal ma’am told the gathering that they should always remember the price our ancestors paid to achieve this freedom. She further emphasized that the youth of today are the wealth of the nation, with their active participation they can escalate the progress of the nation. In the end, sweets were distributed among the students.
